Microphone Tracking
To access microphone tracking settings, click the microphone icon on the right side of Puppetstring's window. At the top of Microphone tracking screen, you can enable or disable tracking by clicking the toggle. You can also manage your microphone tracking profiles by clicking the ...
icon.
Multiple profiles can be saved, each with different settings regarding device and tuning. These profiles can be switched by using the context menu or by using keyboard control.
Device
In this section, you can choose the device to be used for tracking by clicking the ...
icon.
You can toggle Audio Processing
to enable/disable noise reduction and automatic gain adjustments. Please note that enabling/disabling this feature can change your operating system's input volume settings.
Tuning
In this section, you can adjust the Volume Threshold
by changing the numbers in Minimum
and Maximum
fields, respectively. Raising the Minimum
value, for example, will prevent background noise to be tracked as input.
Other than volume treshold, you can also choose between multiple Tracking Behavior
of Puppetstring's microphone tracking:
Mouth Open (Override Camera When Larger)
means the mouth tracking will follow the result of camera tracking first, but overridden by microphone tracking if it determined that the mouth should be more open due to the volume level detected. This means that you can still open your mouth without making any noise and the tracking result will still be correct, but if you keep your mouth closed but there are loud sounds, your mouth will be open.Mouth Open (Always Override)
means the mouth tracking will follow the result of microphone tracking and disregard any result from camera tracking. This means mouth open will always depend on volume level.
