Getting Started

Installing Puppetstring VTuber Tracking from itch.io

Puppetstring VTuber Tracking is currently available for download on itch.io. We strongly recommend using the itch.io desktop app to install and update Puppetstring VTuber Tracking, as it provides very useful features such as automatic updates and download size optimization to help you save bandwidth significantly.

After opening the itch.io desktop app, you can use the search feature on the top-left to find Puppetstring VTuber Tracking, or type https://ar14.itch.io/puppetstring in the address bar.

After that, you can click the Install button on the bottom-right, and the installation wizard will open. There are various versions available:

  • AIO version has model viewer included and can be used without the need of any other app (outside of things like OBS for recording/streaming).
  • Tracking Only version has no model viewer included and is designed to be used alongside Inochi Session.

All of them can be installed at the same time without overwriting each other.

After installation is completed, you can launch Puppetstring using the Launch button which now replaces the Install button. If you have multiple versions installed, you will be shown a list of which version that you want to open.

To install other versions after your first installation is complete, you can click the gear icon on the bottom-right, beside the Install/Launch button. A list containing all of the available items to download/install will be shown. If you click the Manage button on the right side of each installed item, you can view more information about them and uninstall if needed.

tip

Please note that Puppetstring VTuber Tracking is categorized as a software/tool instead of a game. It won't appear in the All Games section in the main library view (it will still show up in the Recent Games section, however). Instead, you can look into the sidebar area while optionally also limit the filter to Software only to find it quicker.

When launching Puppetstring from Steam, you will be presented with these choices:

  • Default mode has model viewer enabled, allowing you to use it without the need of any other app (outside of things like OBS for recording/streaming).
  • Tracking Only mode has model viewer disabled and is designed to be used alongside Inochi Session.
