Keyboard Control

To access keyboard control settings, click the keyboard icon on the right side of Puppetstring's window. At the top of Keyboard Control screen, you can enable or disable this feature by clicking the toggle. You can also manage your keyboard control profiles by clicking the ... icon.

Multiple profiles can be saved, each with different set key combinations. These profiles can be switched by using the context menu.

Adding New Keystroke

You can add a new key combination by clicking the Add Keystroke button. At the top of the form that shows up, you can choose what this key combination will do:

  • Toggle Model Feature can be used to show/hide parts of your model, such as hats or glasses. Keep in mind that support for these toggles depends on your model file, and most of the time your model won't support all of the listed features.
  • Camera Head Position Calibration
  • Toggle Camera/Microphone/Mouse Pointer/Display Color Capture can be used to enable/disable corresponding trackers.
  • Profile Switch can be used to switch between multiple profiles that you've set up for each tracker.

It is recommended to use complex key combination so it won't interfere with the functionality of another application. You can then use programmable keys (usually can be found in gaming keyboards, or programmable mechanical keyboards) to easily trigger these key combinations.

After you're done with your configuration, click Save to save the key combination.

Editing/Removing Keystrokes

Every saved keystrokes will be displayed below the Add Keystroke / Remove All button group. You can delete or edit them by clicking the corresponding buttons. For simpler functions like Toggle Model Feature, there's also on-screen button to Test the function (instead of using the keyboard button combination).
