The Hair Sidebar
The Hairstyle sidebar is the fourth topmost tab of the sidebar, which is available on the left side of the screen. From this tab you can change your character's hair template and color.
Your character can have multiple hairstyles, which is a combination of hair template and hair color settings, in a single file. This section will allow you to manage those hairstyles easily.
Use the right-pointing triangle on the right side of the hairstyle name to switch between all of the available hairstyles. From the drop-down menu that opens, you can also choose to add a new hairstyle, or manage all of the available hairstyles using a more granular interface.
A newly created character will only have 'Default' hairstyle initially. The screenshot below is an example with other hairstyles added.
Below the currently active hairstyle name, you can use the available buttons to (from left to right): Delete currently active hairstyle; Edit current hairstyle's name; Load hairstyle from an external file; Save current hairstyle to an external file.
Saving and loading hairstyles are done through .mqnh file. Loading a hairstyle from a .mqnh file will overwrite your currently active hairstyle with the data obtained from the .mqnh file. If you want to load a hairstyle from file without overwriting your currently active hairstyle, then you can use the Hairstyle Manager which can be accessed by clicking 'Manage Hairstyles...' on the drop-down menu pictured above.
From this window, you can do various things as explained by the picture. Clicking a hairstyle will select it, and clicking again will deselect it. When multiple hairstyles are selected, using the save function will save all of those selected hairstyles into a single file. Hairstyles loaded from external file through this window will appear as new entries, rather than overwriting existing ones.
This section shows the currently active hair template you're using, adjust their color, and provides the option to change it via the folder icon on the right side of the hair template name. Clicking this icon will show the library window which list all of the available hair templates. From this window, you can select the hair template that you want to use by clicking on the thumbnail and then clicking the 'Continue' button.
You can adjust your character's hair color from this section. Choosing the default 'Basic' coloring mode will allow easier color adjustment using a single parameter. However, if you want a more granular control, you can switch to 'Advanced' coloring mode.
Enabling this mode will allow you to define a specific color for highlights, shadows, strokes and backlights.
To change any of the color parameters available, you can input a hexadecimal color code in the corresponding input field or access the color picker by clicking the right pointing triangle at the right side of the input field.
Below is an example on how each color parameter in the 'Advanced' coloring mode affect your character.
